GOAL - MISSION - OBJECTIVES
Goal
To identify and Correct the historical errors in the print and electronic media where President Idi Amin Dada, his regime and his people are reflected negatively due to the in the biased manner in which the negative image is constructed and projected and to make similar publications but with the correct content and image so as to enable people to have a balanced remembrance of President Idi Amin Dada today and tomorrow.
Mission
To study the circumstances in which Idi Amin dada lived and worked; what he actually did and how he did them ; and his legacies by using the principles and practices of academic and practical research institutions at the level of institutions of higher learning in Uganda and the world at large.
Arising from the ways in which President Idi Amin Dada is known and Remembered, the Idi Amin Dada Memorial Institute is founded as an academic institution for studies with Special attention put on Research and Strategic Studies
Research is a process of systematic inquiry that entails collection of data; documentation of critical information; and analysis and interpretation of that data/information, in accordance with suitable methodologies set by specific professional fields and academic disciplines.
The goal of Carrying out Research Studies on the history of President Idi Amin Dada, his government and his people is to correctly understand the past in relation to the present in order to identify and correct the misrepresentations of history therein and in order to better anticipate the future.
Strategic Studies is An Interdisciplinary Academic Field Centered On The Study Of Conflict And Peace Strategies ; Geopolitics and security .
The goal of Carrying out Strategic Studies is to understand the Geography and the future of Africa, Uganda and the West Nile sub region in Particular in order to predict , prevent or ameliorate human suffering arising from natural and man-made disasters.
The Aims and Objectives
The Aims and Objectives of Carrying out Research include the following:
- To Reevaluate the video and audio records ; and the written and unwritten History of President Idi Amin Dada , his government and the his people by which the current and future generations of Ugandans may be made to know and Remember President Idi Amin Dada in the context of the presentation made therein.
- To assemble a body of genuine historical facts and share it with others in appropriate manners.
- To help generate questions for further inquiries and research if necessary .
- To stop Negative Branding of President Idi Amin Dada , the negative stereotyping and the Victimization of The people of West Nile and all people of Uganda associated with president Idi Amin Dada .
